Experiencing two very different business backgrounds has been a unique privilege of mine. My original training and career was in electrical engineering for two corporations. I worked both as a long range planner and a senior product engineer, where I used my design and application skills. Then, I chose a significant career shift. For my second career I have worked as the senior pastor for over 25 years in two churches, where I have developed effective teams and delivered thousands of motivational talks. I co-founded a nondenominational church in the suburbs of Chicago and have a weekly TV ministry. In 1999 I successfully transitioned a New England church ministry to a “purpose driven” style and focus. In 2005, I was featured as a “turn-around” church pastor in Leadership Journal Magazine.
Clients say that I bring clarity to their lives by making complex issues simple. Leadership can be a lonely place; who can you talk to for a clear perspective? I am an excellent listener who will elicit greatness from my clients. Together we will look at where you are and where you want to be. Then I will partner with you to help you get there. We may need to re-define your purpose, bring balance into your life between work and home, learn to enjoy life or transition from success to significance.
Having wrestled through the concept of discovering my life purpose, I can confidently say that my purpose is to “Connect isolated leaders to partner for greatness in building effective teams. This has given my life great confidence, focus and effectiveness and I can do the same for you.
I am very grateful for the wonderful coaching and training opportunities in which I have participated. I have attended ILCT (The Institute for Life Coach Training) and was a Dream Giver Coach with Bruce Wilkinson. As a graduate of Ministry Advantage Pastor’s Coaching System, I spent a two year intensive on coaching and training in strategic and leadership systems. Also, I have a Masters in Ministry from Moody Graduate School where training in leadership and communication skills are developed.
My wife, Dawn, and I partner together to lead teleclasses and co-lead workshops. We have taught seminars and workshops in various places of the country and have seen a number of people’ lives radically change as they apply the concepts of uncluttering their lives, discovering their life purpose, and building team. Assessments are a core diagnostic portion of our coaching process. I am a certified trainer for the Leading From Your Strengths, an on-line strength assessment tool. We have found that the on-line strength assessments have been accurate and very insightful to helping our clients understand their strengths and blend their differences with others on their team.
My wife and I are Founding members of AMFM, The Association of Marriage and Family Ministries. We are workshop speakers and writers with an emphasis on leadership and influence. and we oversee the AMFM Leadership Development Focus Group.
Dawn and I have been married for over 30 years and have three grown sons and one daughter-in-law. We reside in picturesque Vermont, where I enjoy biking, volleyball and photography.
